marriott leap

Jasper Marriott has been involved in large scale youth dance projects since a young age. Through his involvement with Cheshire Dance Workshop (Now Cheshire Dance) he has learnt first hand how deeply rewarding and holistically educational the experience of being involved in creating original work alongside professionals and performing to new audiences can be.  After graduating from The Northern School of Contemporary Dance in Leeds Jasper worked as a dance performer, teacher and choreographer for a number of different dance companies for both stage and for T.V. Notably Jasper toured nationally and internationally with Ludus Dance Company; performing shows and teaching workshops in Beijing, Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, Colombia and Kosovo as well as extensively touring the UK. Ludus was the leading dance in education company of its time and created full energy multi media dance in education shows that toured schools, theatres and community venues. One school that Jasper performed at always stood out as being a particularly special place; Queen Elizabeth School. A year after leaving the Ludus touring company Jasper began his teacher training at QES. He is now Head of dance at QES and feels privileged to work with incredibly talented and hard working pupils in a truly supportive, forward thinking and value led environment.

Megan Alder-Cox: Curious Dance Teacher

megan aldercox

Megan trained at the prestigious Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London where she gained her degree in Contemporary Dance. During her time at Laban she studied Cunningham, Graham and Release based contemporary techniques as well as Classical Ballet and Choreography. Whilst at Laban, Megan was fortunate enough to work with world class dance artists and performed work by Sonia Rafferty, Naomi Lefebvre Sell and danced in a recreation of ‘Women’ by Sasha Waltz. As Megan’s training continued, she found a talent for teaching and began to assist with the children’s classes at Laban. Megan now teaches both children and adults in a range of different dance styles. Megan is currently in the pre-rehearsal stage of performing with Zoe Leigh Gadd’s Company ‘Dance Ahead’ which will start rehearsals in August 2016. Megan is also working on her own choreography and will be making a contemporary dance film later this year. As a former QES pupil and one of the original members of the Curious Dance Company (formerly Aurora Dance Theatre) Megan is very excited to bring her wealth of knowledge back to her roots.
